You'll work closely with correctional staff to treat and prevent communicable and chronic diseases, provide health education, and support reintegration into the community through continuity of care.
As a Medical Practitioner in the Health Services team, you'll make a positive impact by:
Providing high-quality medical care within a multidisciplinary teamProviding skilled health assessments, diagnosis and treatment services to patientsReferring inmates to external providers when care needs exceed the Centre's capabilities, and reviewing progress and outcomes promptlyTreating and preventing communicable and chronic diseasesEducating patients on health and lifestyle choicesTaking responsibility for, or contributing to the clinical supervision of Nurse PractitionersSupporting patient reintegration into the communityEnsuring continuity of care for a diverse custodial populationWorking closely with correctional staff to deliver integrated careSerco is a place for you To be successful in this role you'll have:
Unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA2+ years of post-graduate general practitioner experienceBe recognised as a Fellow or working towards the same with a relevant college, or vocationally registeredCurrent HLTAD009 CPR or EquivalentExperience in general practice, mental health, drug & alcohol, emergency care, or women's healthAbility to provide appropriate diagnosis and treatmentAbility to effectively communicate in both oral and written formsCultural awareness and the ability to work with diverse populationsAs a fast-growing and successful global company, Serco's services span across Justice, immigration, Defence, Space, Customer Services, Health, and Urban Mobility.
