The medical physics registrar must enrol and participate in the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Radiation Oncology Medical Physics (ROMP) Training, Education and Assessment Program (TEAP).The registrar will work as part of a team of radiation oncology physicists and be fully involved in all aspects of a clinical radiation oncology medical physics service. As part of the TEAP program, the registrar will gain experience in a range of clinical medical physics service including radiation safety, radiation dosimetry, radiotherapy equipment, and treatment planning. The registrar will have good communication and practical skills to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including radiation oncologist, radiation therapist, engineers, and allied health professionals.This position is based at Orange. Occasional travel to Dubbo may be required.WNSW District Radiation Oncology service has two Radiation Oncology centres:Central West Cancer Care Centre Orange is equipped with Two Varian Linac and One Orthovoltage unit and CT simulator.Western Cancer Centre Dubbo is equipped with a Varian linac, Orthovoltage unit and PET-CT Simulator.The district has a centralized ARIA Oncology information system and Eclipse treatment planning systems. The radiation oncology team consists of radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, medical physics specialists, biomed engineers, and IT professionals.
