The Media Relations Manager is a key position within the ANZ Group Media and Public Relations Team. 
The Media and Public Relations Team works to:
protect and enhance ANZ's reputation through proactive and reactive media engagement. support the preparation and execution of media engagement strategies, in support of the bank's strategic and business objectives. support the delivery of key events including financial results, the AGM and strategic announcements. The role is responsible for supporting the management of media enquiries and the day to day activities of the team. It will play a key role in providing guidance and support to key internal stakeholders on media strategy and issues and reputation management.. Role Location: Melbourne or Sydney
Role Type: Permanent, Full time What will your day look like? As a Media Relations Manager you will:
Helping to build, manage and maximise the bank's relationships with Australian media. Preparing and implementing media engagement strategies. Drafting, reviewing, approving and releasing media releases, statements and other external communications materials. Supporting the daily management of and responses to media enquiries received by the Media Relations Team. Providing media advice, training and support for ANZ leaders and spokespeople. Working collaboratively and proactively with business stakeholders and colleagues in Communications and Public Affairs to support the bank's media and communications objectives. Role-modelling leadership behaviours and actively contributing to a positive culture. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape, including print, online, radio, television and social media.  Experience in proactive and reactive media engagement, including issues management and crisis management. Sound judgement and experience in making sound and timely decisions in an ambiguous environment. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
