They will also address the need for new skills in solar, wind and storage solutions, as well as other emerging renewable energy technology advancements.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the Media & Communications Manager is responsible for leading media relations and developing other external communications/content. Key to the role is developing a pipeline of media opportunities and leading strategic plans and approaches to deliver high quality and compelling content for media events, keynote presentations, stakeholder and community engagement initiatives. The Media & Communications Manager will also liaise directly with journalists to present high quality and compelling written content for announcements and project milestones, as well as produce materials ranging from speeches and case studies to FAQs and social posts. The appointee will lead on media and issues management, proactively identifying and addressing emerging challenges across the regulatory environment, preparing proactive and reactive materials, influencing and advising on approaches.
About you
You are a proven 'purpose driven' external communications expert, with extensive experience in high impact media relations projects. You are an inspiring story-teller and take a proactive and responsive approach to work. Your track record in developing and implementing compelling external communications strategies is underpinned by your strong commercial mindset, highly tuned radar for issues, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated passion for making a difference through the advancement of the energy transition. Exposure to the energy sector or an understanding of energy transition issues is highly desirable, although not mandatory. Professional qualifications in journalism, public relations or other relevant degree required.
