We have an exciting opportunity available for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Revesby. Reporting to the Process Engineer, this is a diverse role responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure the continual running of the plant.
The Role
Perform preventative maintenance on production machines. Inspect machinery and perform repairs on site, arranging replacement equipment as required. Report and communicate any equipment malfunction and maintenance/repair, providing recommendations on the corrective action required. Operate conventional metal lathes and milling machines. Perform fabrication tasks including welding, cutting, and grinding. Provide mechanical support and technical knowledge to internal and external clients as required. Maintain the internal maintenance management system. Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that production/maintenance documents are completed accurately and on time. Selection Criteria
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter. Minimum 3+ years' mechanical fitting experience, working on industrial manufacturing plant and machinery. Current Forklift Licence (Dogging ticket and Overhead Crane competency preferred). Welding experience coupled with advanced knowledge of fabrication practices. Competent in the operation of milling and lathing machines. Ability to interpret engineering and mechanical drawings. This role would suit a motivated self-starter that requires little direction, has a hands-on approach, is able to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly and independently, and is able to manage and prioritise competing work demands.
