The Role
Programmed Industrial Maintenance is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for Casual Mechanical Fitters to join our maintenance team for upcoming opportunities.
Successful applicants will have previous experience in the FMCG (food & beverage), light and heavy manufacturing industry, with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated commitment to safety.
Skills, Experience and Attributes
The ideal candidate will possess the following;

Australian Recognized Trade Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter
Previous mechanical maintenance and workshop experience ideally in a large manufacturing environment, installing, repairing, modifying, assembling and commissioning plant equipment.
Working knowledge of mechanical and service equipment such as CNC machinery, conveyor belts, packaging, robotics, palletisers and inspection equipment
Nationally accredited qualifications and experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and systems
Current Construction White Card required
High risk qualifications are highly regarded (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Rigging).
Current nationally accredited Working at Heights ticket highly regarded.
Current nationally accredited Confined Space ticket highly regarded.
Experience working with CMMS systems and reports.
Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.

A pro-active approach to resolving issues and excellent attention to detail.

The role:

Attend breakdowns and repairs.
Abilitiy to solve complex problems, think outside the box and drive for solutions.
Knowledge sharing and assisting in upskilling operators to minimise breakdowns.
As part of the engineering team, install and commission new equipment with a focus on ensuring the equipment consistently performs to the required function.
Ensure all machine settings are operationally correct and are set in accordance with supporting documentation.
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance as planned.
Condition based maintenance and reliability based maintenance inspections
Carry out repairs on faulty equipment and improve the reliability of the equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on equipment.
