Located in the Beef Capital of Australia, the JBS Rockhampton processing facility produces a range of pasture fed and grain fed beef products, from commodity to premium. Our organic beef brand, Acres Organic and Right to Roam, our verified grass-fed beef brand is both packed exclusively at Rockhampton. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a current processing capacity of 700 head of beef cattle per day, operating 6 days/week.
About the Role JBS Rockhampton is currently recruiting an experienced and professional Mechanical Fitter to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for providing maintenance support across the plant as required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenanceEngaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimum condition for their intended useEnsuring all mechanical work is carried out to meet company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulationsTime management, task ownership and ability to work autonomously and in a teamOther responsibilities that may come up from time to time, such as working on projectsA $5,000 Sign-On bonus is available to applicable candidates. *Conditions apply.
About You Fitter and Turner trade qualifications and post-trade experience (ideally a minimum of 2 years)Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environmentPrevious experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skillsA thorough understanding of maintenance work management practicesUnderstanding of work planning and scheduling proceduresSound computer skillsWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsThorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/proceduresConfined Space and BA Competence highly desiredAbility to work shift work including rotating roster, day and afternoon shiftWhy work for JBS Australia?
