Brooks – Laboratory Automation Systems, specialise in the design and manufacture of compact, innovative benchtop automation for optimising pre- and post-analytical workflows in pathology and analytical laboratories, and has installations worldwide. We are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer as we accelerate our growth journey. What you'll do: Work collaboratively with customers and multi-disciplinary teams to design, develop and improve new and existing products from ideation to production,
Create concept images for new product proposals,
Create 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using PTC Creo,
What you'll bring: Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline,
5+ years previous experience in product design (automation experience is desirable),
New product development experience from conceptual design through to production,
Machine design experience, part/component detailed design,
2D drawing for manufacture, knowledge in GD&T,
Experience in designing with electro-mechanical components including motors and sensors,
Proven ability to meet pre-determined timeframes,
A strong communicator, capable of building effective relationships with all stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams at all levels of the organisation,
An eye for detail,
A solutions-oriented focus,
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Excellent critical thinking, diagnosis and problem solving skills,
Demonstrable ability to work autonomously and consistently deliver results,
A strong team player, mentor and coach for junior colleagues.
