Job DescriptionDetecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and partsDismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking partsRepairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, referring to service manuals as neededPerforming scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulationsReassembling engines and parts after being repairedTesting and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performanceDiagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computersRequirementsSuccessful completion of an appropriate Diesel/Tractor Mechanic tradeProven post-qualification experience in a similar role or ability to adapt and display required skillsAbility to work as part of a team and autonomously without supervisionTechnical skill set across various engineering competencies (Welding, Fabrication etc)Excellent time management skillsSalary$70,000 - $80,000 per year
