As a Project Accountant, you will report to the Project Director with secondary reporting to the Finance Manager (F,P&A) and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage the financial framework across a major road/infrastructure project to ensure integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making. This role is responsible for:
Budgeting & Forecasting Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support key customer program financial deliverables, including allowable Cost Reviews, and other customer assurance activities. Working with the broader Financial Performance & Analysis team to ensure effective outcomes for the company are achieved. Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse project financial performance with commentary, including risk & opportunities and EVM. Day to day financial tracking and cost allocation for the project. Assisting the project team to review and approve all suppliers and subcontractors' claims/invoices. Assisting contract team in preparing monthly project claims. Oversee financial reporting and monitor expense and cash flow for the project. Risk and Compliance Deliver results to maximise potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies and procedures throughout the course of the project. Provide an internal audit function, ensuring project setup and maintenance compliance. About You
As the successful applicant you will have:
A university degree in finance, accounting or related discipline, or an appropriate level of prior relevant experience. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of project accounting experience within the construction industry. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel. The ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and members of the broader finance team.
