Our Marketing and Communications Team is growing, and we are seeking a new team member to become a lead 'storyteller' of our School, with a focus on social media, public relations and community engagement.
In an agile team of three, the incumbent will have diverse exposure to an integrated marketing and communications function in a large and complex not-for-profit organisation.
This role is an excellent opportunity to further develop your soft and technical skills to advance your career in marketing and communications, with the support and mentoring of a motivated and experienced Director and team.
St Michael's celebrates our 130th year in 2025 - and the Marketing and Communications Officer will be integral to sharing our evolving story with the School community and beyond.
This is an ongoing full time position, commencing in 2025. Induction Days are 23 and 24 January 2025.
The successful applicant will:
be a degree-qualified, creative and engaging individual pursuing a career in Marketing, Communications and Public Relations;have a current Employee Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one;have a National Police History Check (obtained within the last 6 months);have a Current Driver's License – some local travel may be required from time to time.Key responsibilities:
Strategy Support: Collaborate with the Director to implement and support the overall Marketing and Communications Strategy.Photography and Videography: Capture and assist with photo and video shoots, including smartphone photography for social media.Content Creation and Management: Develop engaging content for the school's official social media channels, manage website updates, and produce blogs and other informational materials.Publication Management: Support the Marketing and Communications Coordinator with the workflow for key publications such as yearbooks, magazines, and newsletters.Event Management: Help to promote, organise and manage events such as Open Days, community gatherings, and school visits to generate engagement.Supplier Liaison: Work with preferred suppliers to obtain quotes, track project progress, and ensure timely delivery of marketing materials.Promotional Material Production: Assist in creating advertisements and other promotional content as needed.Cross-Department Support: Provide marketing and communication advice and tactical support to other departments as required.School Involvement: Actively participate in school life by attending key events and initiatives.Child Safety Compliance: Adhere to the School's Child Safety Policy and undertake training to ensure compliance.St Michael's Grammar School is one of the leading co-educational, independent schools in Australia, providing exceptional learning opportunities to students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
