Operating now for over 50 years, nationally it employs some 160 staff, led by an experienced CEO.Sitting down with that CEO we plotted what this role looks like. So let me fill you in! The company has appointed a new National Sales & Marketing Manager and also newly engaged a Marketing Consultancy to drive a redeveloped marketing strategy. Initiatives will include things like magazines, websites, collateral and social media but also the basics of ensuring the sales team has everything they need to be successful. The drive here is to execute a growth strategy including the diversification into new markets. You'll support the Head of Sales and CEO and also engage with the Consultancy in executing these strategies. What's key here is that this is not a task driven role. We want initiatives, ideas and proactive support. We don't know exactly what these strategies look like yet and I think that's the exciting part. You will be part of delivering something.At the same time the CEO needs more hours to focus on these business growth strategies, potential new markets and forging new relationships. He has, in fact, been the architect of two recent very key agreements that will forge exciting new markets. So, we also want you to provide broad ranging support to the CEO. As I say, this will be broad, and will include administration, the development of presentations, collating and co-ordinating finance reports for the Board, travel and so on. These are just examples, it's just keeping the CEO focussed where he needs to be!What's the split between Marketing and Administration? That's not clear, it might be 50-50, but will ebb and flow and sometimes there might be more administration, but it's also all connected in a way. One thing is for sure, there won't be a dull moment! It's a great role to make a real difference in an organisation with a good size and profile, but also small enough to allow you to make an impact and truly make things happen! The team will value your initiative, can do attitude and of course, efficiency.As for the person we are seeking, here I have a couple of thoughts. You might be an experienced EA or Administration Manager, or perhaps even a relatively recent Marketing graduate keen to develop an understanding of a 'whole' business and seeing a strategy come together. I don't mind what industry you have come from, although experience in a sales environment would certainly be well regarded.I think it's a role that will appeal to many, whether you be looking for professional growth opportunities or a broad and engaging role with an organisation on the move.It's a great team with a good culture.
