As part of this investment we are looking to recruit a Market Analyst , on a full-time, permanent basis, based in Birmingham.
You will be responsible for supporting in passenger revenue and demand analysis.
Collecting and presenting data to provide market insight to drive commercial decision making.
What does the job involve? Detailed monitoring and analysis of a range of relevant KPI which is used to develop our insight for understanding income and demand, which plays into our understanding of the overall cause of change, and helps us to grow income and demand further.
Providing support to the Senior Revenue Analysis Manager in building revenue and demand forecasts.
Structured liaison - with Local frontline management teams including retail, customer service, revenue protection and senior conductors to understand the reality of customer facing experience.
Key involvement in periodic revenue reporting as well as adhoc analysis.
Developing business cases for various planned changes, measuring return on investment.
E.g. Product, Price, Car Parking, Timetables, Stations etc.
To be familiar and comfortable in the functionality of the management information system, which will help in the analysis of revenue and demand data.
This will include the development of Power BI or alternatives to improve dashboard reporting.
Support frontline teams with data driven insights to guide revenue protection strategy and tactical deployment.
What skills and experience do I need to do the job? A highly numerate individual with strong IT software ability in Microsoft Excel and Word among others.
Excellent capability to grasp and solve complex issues and systems quickly.
Excellent understanding of UK passenger rail income with particular reference to the regulatory framework and rail demand drivers.
Knowledge of West Midlands Trains operations and geography.
An extremely well organised individual with the ability to employ logical processes.
