Quicksilver ConnectionsLocated in Port DouglasStarting salary $100,000 plus superannuationAbout the roleApplications are being sought for a Vessel Engineer position on board Quicksilver's fleet of vessels in Port Douglas.
Generally, you will work 7:00am to 5:15pm, 5 days a week, with an RDO every 3 weeks; flexibility for weekend work will apply.Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:Maintenance, repair, and engineering dutiesAssisting with the day-to-day operation of the vesselMaintenance, repair, and engineering duties of all mechanical systems on a 30m High-Speed Catamaran including:
Deutz Main EnginesCummins GeneratorsHydraulic Ride Control and Steering Systems
Work with a team of motivated marine and workshop professionals to ensure the safety and condition of company assets are maintained to a high standardAssisting with the day-to-day operation of the vessel including watch keeping and mentoring of junior staffAbout youStrong leadership skills and ability to work well in a team environmentA current qualification of Marine Engine Driver Grade 1Experience with Detroit, MTU, Cummins, Scania, and Deutz Diesel Engines is desirableA Coxswain or Master
