Rivtow Marine is looking for a full-time Marine Operations Specialist based in Port Hedland, WA. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing operations and supporting a large fleet of escort and harbour tugs at the world's busiest export port.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading and developing high-performing teams to deliver operational excellenceAn understanding of the technical scope of vessels and maintenanceEnsuring compliance with ISM/ISO/Class/AMSA legislation, management systems, and practicesOverseeing shipboard systems and operational standardsDriving safety performance and coaching others in high safety awarenessDelivering results aligned with customer and project goalsPotential international travelAbout YouTo qualify, you will need tertiary qualifications in Maritime, sea-going experience as a Master or Chief Officer and a minimum of 5 years experience in the marine industry, ideally within towage operations. A strong understanding of tugboats and the complexity of towage, along with proven experience in vessel maintenance and management, or similar roles, will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience operating in a towage fleet or similar marine environmentSound understanding of ISM/ISO/Class/AMSA legislation, management systems, and practicesKnowledge of shipboard systems and computer-based planned maintenance systems (e.g., Sertica, NS5)High-level safety awareness with the ability to lead and coach othersDemonstrated flexibility and resilience in handling complex issues and solving problems effectivelyAs our ideal candidate, you will possess strong leadership and organisational skills with an ability to develop high-performing teams.
