The Opportunity A new opportunity has become available for a Manufacturing Support Engineer to work as part of our Cochlear Brisbane Operations Manufacturing division based in Newstead.
The successful candidate will play an essential role in providing engineering support during the manufacture of the cochlear implant and external accessories.
This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your problem-solving skills as you provide solutions to production problems and act as a key contact for Manufacturing on yield and quality.
Accountabilities include: Provides first point of contact for Manufacturing on yield, quality and throughput challenges Provides solutions to identified production problems Analyses Manufacturing rejects as required to reclaim where possible. Identify and rectify root causes of rejects. Ensures Non-Conformance Reports and Concessions are processed accurately and effectively Ensures adherence and compliance to the Quality System and relevant regulatory bodies Identifies opportunities for safety, quality and cost improvements on the Manufacturing lines To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes.
Must haves: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering. Prefer mechatronics, electronics, or manufacturing. Proven competencies in problem solving, design, and manufacturing. Great interpersonal and communications skills. Ideal: Enthusiasm for working in a similar manufacturing role within a highly regulated industry. Experience in working within a manufacturing management system (e.g., Lean). Experience with one of the technologies: SMT, overmoulding and low-pressure moulding, test systems, die bonding, manual assembly and soldering.
