Position 1: Managing Director of Heritage and Culture
As Managing Director of Heritage and Culture, you will play a key role in preserving and promoting Aboriginal heritage in the South East region of South Australia.
Working closely with the Board, you will lead initiatives in cultural tourism, heritage preservation, and economic development to create opportunities for sustainable employment and on-Country experiences.
This role requires strong cultural sensitivity, strategic leadership, and a commitment to advancing the mission of Burrandies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead strategic planning and implementation for heritage preservation and cultural tourism programs.
Act as a spokesperson for BAC, engaging with media, community, and stakeholders.
Develop partnerships to support sustainable economic development within the community.
Oversee grant applications, budget management, and financial reporting to ensure transparency.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience working with Aboriginal communities and a strong understanding of cultural values.
Strong leadership, financial management, and project planning skills.
Ability to liaise effectively with government agencies, community groups, and media.
Position 2: Managing Director of Bunganditj Language and Education
The Managing Director of Bunganditj Language and Education will be responsible for leading Burrandies' language preservation and cultural education programs.
Reporting to the Board, you will work to uphold and grow the Bunganditj language by developing educational programs, partnering with cultural knowledge holders, and expanding on-Country learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the development and implementation of Bunganditj language and cultural education programs.
Oversee the Bunganditj Language Reclamation Committee (BLRC) and collaborate with community stakeholders.
Secure funding for language and education initiatives through grant applications and partnerships.
Develop and promote cultural learning programs for community members and future generations.
Tertiary qualification in education, Indigenous languages, or equivalent experience.
Strong track record of engagement and respectful communication with Aboriginal communities.
Demonstrated ability to manage language and cultural education programs.
Proficiency in grant writing, budget management, and program evaluation.
