DJG operates globally with distribution and manufacturing facilities primarily through its subsidiaries and independent distributors. Dorel Australia, located in Melbourne, Victoria, is a 100%-owned subsidiary of Dorel as responsible for sales and distribution of DJB brands such as Maxi-Cosi, Mother's Choice, Safety 1st and Tiny Love in Australia and New Zealand.
In Australia, we design and engineer all our Child Restraint Systems (CRS) and nursery products for our local market.
Your missionDorel is currently seeking a Managing Director to run its profitable Juvenile operations in Australia & New Zealand following a recent reorganization. The successful MD is a proven profit and loss leader and general manager with a track record of driving business performance in the marketplace.
As the Managing Director you will lead all aspects of the company's performance with full P&L accountability . You'll be responsible for the overall success of the business.
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader with a proven track record in profitably growing a business. while implementing its vision, mission, and long-term goals. Resilience, commercial acumen, empathy and people engagement skills are essential.
Key responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities: Develop and execute the company's business strategies to attain Dorel Juvenile Australia/New Zealand company objectives.Balance strategic responsibilities and tactical execution to continue to achieve top-line sales and profitability targets.Lead and manage a multi-functional team by setting clear expectations and motivating continued performance through strong teamwork and empowerment.Continue to drive profitable growth by building brand, omni-channel capabilities, customer loyalty.Communicate clearly and effectively with executive presence company's future vision, priorities and action plan to the President, Segment peers and other Dorel stakeholders.Model the way and enlist the leadership team to reinforce the organization's purpose, culture, and values.Ensure company policies and compliance guidelines are communicated clearly and followed in the companyEnsure a robust leadership development culture that provides employees with diverse experiences and personal growth opportunities across the Dorel organization.Promote cross-Segment communication across functions to: Fully maximize Dorel's human and intellectual capital and resourcesSearch for new opportunities. Stimulate and encourage innovative approach in sales, marketing, product development and operations to ensure leadership position in the marketplace.Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities.Your profileSkills and Competencies 8+ years of high-quality management and P&L experience in the branded discretionary consumer product industry.A solid track record of advancement with proven results in driving business performance through cross-functional teamwork and collaboration.Strong commercial acumen with a resourceful and adaptable mindset.Ability to think strategic and execute operationally.A leader with an eye toward talent selection and mentoring, proven ability to identify and engage top talent across an organization.Experience working in a highly regulated industry, beneficial but not essentialAn open and transparent communication style which is reflected in all forms of communication—interpersonal, written, virtual meetings, and in presentations.Possessing a high level of emotional Intelligence: empathy, self-awareness, relationship-building skills.Proven ability to inspire support and develop the next generation of leaders.Global mindset and executive presence in effective communication with corporate senior leaders.
