Catholic Education has a network of 18 schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools and Early Learning Centres.
The Role: The Manager Urban Schools Finance provides professional leadership and support to the financial and payroll operations of our 12 Urban Catholic Schools. This includes organising professional development, implementing policies and procedures, preparing or reviewing financial reports and supporting schools with preparations for internal and external audits. Prepare analytical insights on the schools' financial performance and assist the CFO in developing strategies to ensure the schools' ongoing and long-term financial viability.
Key responsibilities: Consult, coach and mentor Principals, Finance Officers and Business Managers in the delivery of strong financial sustainability. Deliver expert advice and leadership in technical accountability, including financial and payroll operations needs for Urban Schools. Work with stakeholders to lead, develop and implement budgeting processes for financial governance and operational review. Provide or organise professional development opportunities for a focused financial service, reporting and training in accordance to policies and practices for finance staff across CENT. Monitor, analyse and report on school's financial viability, highlighting any emerging gap analysis or risks and report back to the Chief Financial Officer. Preparation of business cases for Urban Schools/ Colleges, development of benchmarking and reporting dashboards. Monitor and assist urban schools in their preparations for external audit processes and produce draft annual financial statements.
