The Manager Stakeholder Relations is a critical leadership role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to engage with key stakeholders, including government entities, regulatory bodies, community groups, media, industry associations, and shareholders. The role is pivotal in fostering positive relationships, ensuring transparency, and promoting Delta Electricity's strategic priorities and reputation in the power generation and coal mining sector. The position holder will provide strategic advice to the CEO and senior leadership team on stakeholder engagement and public perception to support the achievement of Delta's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management Develop and execute a strategic stakeholder engagement plan that aligns with Delta Electricity's business objectives, focusing on government, industry, community, and media relations.Build and maintain strong relationships with federal, state, and local government officials, regulators, and industry associations to influence policy, regulatory outcomes, and advocate for Delta's interests.Lead community engagement initiatives to foster positive relations with local communities, ensuring effective communication about Delta's operations, project developments, and sustainability efforts.Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries, concerns, and feedback.Provide strategic counsel and support to senior leadership on communication matters, including crisis management and reputation enhancement.Government and Regulatory Affairs Monitor and analyze policy developments, legislative changes, and regulatory trends that impact Delta's operations and the broader energy sector.Develop and advocate for policy positions that align with Delta's strategic objectives and support a sustainable, competitive energy market in Australia.Represent Delta Electricity in consultations, industry forums, and public hearings, effectively communicating the company's position on key issues.Corporate Communications and Media Relations Lead the development and execution of Delta Electricity's communication strategy through working closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and Operations, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and communication efforts.Manage media relations, acting as a spokesperson when required, and coordinate press releases, media briefings, and crisis communication responses.Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies to ensure alignment with organisational objectives that foster a culture of transparency and engagement through effective communication channels and platforms.Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Drive Delta's community relations program, ensuring meaningful engagement with local communities impacted by the company's operations, including coal mining activities.Oversee the planning and delivery of CSR initiatives, focusing on environmental stewardship, social investment, and local economic development.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure community concerns are addressed and integrated into Delta's operational planning and decision-making processes.Ideally you will have: Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or Public policy, political science or related field.Substantial demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, relationship building, networking and communication in a complex and dynamic environment.Extensive experience in written and verbal communication across multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders.Extensive experience in developing a broad stakeholder engagement strategy in a politically sensitive environment.You will be someone who can embrace the following Delta competencies: Working with PeopleRelating and NetworkingPersuading and InfluencingPresenting and Communicating InformationWriting and Reporting#J-18808-Ljbffr
