The Manager, Specialised Assessment is responsible for the implementation of statewide specialised assessment services across both community and custodial locations as well as the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the Clinical Support Unit.
The Manager will oversee and lead a team of practitioners and staff responsible for the assessment of sexual and violent offenders.
The Manager of Specialised Assessment will oversee and provide expert advice to key and influential stakeholders across multiple high-level forums within government and the community.

The essential requirements for this role are: Demonstrated experience in leading a service delivery team within a corrections/forensic or similar allied health service environment.Demonstrated ability and understanding of offender assessment intervention and treatment planning.High level knowledge and application of research and practices specific to effective management of high risk sex and violent offenders and knowledge, interpretation and application of complex legislation, policies and procedures.Ability to identify and manage risk while creating risk mitigating opportunities for the organisation.Staff management and leadership skills and experience including knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement contemporary human resource management practices.Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management, staff and stakeholders at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.Written communication skills, particularly the ability to prepare complex and sensitive reports, briefings, policy papers and submissions.Research and analytical skills for investigating and analysing trends associated with the management of sexual and violent offenders and ability to operationalise this information providing relevant advice for business improvement.Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Criminology, Social Work or a related allied health discipline would be highly desired in this role. Also, possession of post graduate qualifications (or significant progress towards post graduate qualifications) in the relevant area will be highly regarded.Where relevant to an applicant's individual discipline full registration or the ability to obtain full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent is required.
