Join Our Team as a Manager for our School to Jobs Program! Are you passionate about empowering First Nations youth and driving impactful change? Cape York Employment (CYE) is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Manager to lead the delivery of our School to Jobs (S2J) Program. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of Cape York youth.
About the Role As the Manager – School to Jobs you will oversee the S2J team to facilitate smooth transitions for Indigenous students from educational settings into gainful employment. While not directly involved in providing education, the S2J Manager will work closely with the Executive Principal and personnel of Djarragun College to align employment opportunities with each student's educational plan. This position focuses on building strong relationships with local employers and organisations to enhance job opportunities and ensuring ongoing support and mentorship to students as they enter the workforce. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Indigenous education pathways, workforce development, and community engagement.
About you To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience in the management and leadership of a small team.Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, workforce development, or education, preferably with Indigenous communities.Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by Indigenous students in relation to education and employment.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, employers, and community members.Proven ability to develop and execute outreach and engagement strategies.Knowledge of job market trends and employer needs within the region.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and project management skills.Possess a Working with Children Blue Card and successfully complete a Police Check.Degree in Education, Human Services, Business Administration.
