About the roleThe Manager Reporting and Budget Strategy leads TAFE SA's consolidated financial performance reporting to internal and external stakeholders and the development and management of TAFE SA's long term financial plan and budget forward estimates with the Department of Treasury and Finance. Leading a small team and working closely with TAFE SA's Executive Team, Directors and Finance Business Partners, this role ensures the timely and accurate development of budget targets and reporting of budget performance to external stakeholders such as the Department of Treasury and Finance, Department for Education and Skills SA. The role also ensures timely, accurate and insightful monthly financial performance reporting to the TAFE SA Executive and Board. This position provides advice and expertise on SA Government budget requirements, systems and processes and leads processes that drive decision making, target setting, performance accountability and resource allocation for TAFE SA.
Key Selection Criteria Degree qualification in accounting, economics, or related financial/business management field, or equivalent experience. Experience and understanding of SA Government budgeting and financial reporting frameworks, systems and requirements Advanced relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to drive decision making processes and the courage to challenge Senior Managers in a respectful and appropriate manner on matters of financial management within their business unit. Demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of financial models in a complex environment using various modelling and reporting tools Demonstrated experience in business analysis, developing strategies to improve performance and providing concise written reports. Demonstrated experience in leading a small team and demonstrating initiative while remaining focussed on agreed objectives. Demonstrated experience in customer engagement, providing a responsive and proactive customer focussed service CA or CPA designation would be highly desirable Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
Out of hours work will be required. Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required. Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
