Providing essential services through a significant network of assets, the organisation operates in an environment undergoing a major transition, driven by renewable energy projects, regulatory developments, technological disruption, and increasing consumer and industry engagement.The Role:Leading a small team of analysts, you will develop, advocate, and advance Power and Water Corporation's strategic position on key economic regulation policy issues across electricity and water services. Engaging and influencing key stakeholders will be a critical factor in your success in this role.Reporting to the Senior Manager Regulation, Economics and Pricing, your key accountabilities will include:Driving people capability and culture to establish a high performing team.Leading regulatory and commercial analysis and policy advice to stakeholders across the business, government agencies, and regulators.Proactively managing relationships with regulators, customer advocacy groups and other key external stakeholders to keep the business well informed of current / future developments.Working with external decision makers and internal technical experts to influence government, regulator and rulemaking bodies.Assessing and interpreting complex legislative and policy changes and identifying the business impact of regulatory changes.Engaging on regulatory reform or advocacy related matters to Government regarding its economic reform program.Providing strategic advice and advocacy services to business units ensuring they are informed of regulatory and policy changes evolving from government and regulatory reform.You will bring:Experience in delivering economically rigorous policy advice within a utility or other regulated asset-based sector.Proven ability in leading and engaging multiple stakeholders including regulators on complex regulatory policy positions.Strong understanding of the economic and commercial impact of policy, program or project proposals.A collaborative and engaging approach cross functionally on key business decisions that impact the economic regulation of the business.A degree in an economics, law, accounting / finance or related field is desirable.Benefits:Power and Water Corporation has created an inclusive and collaborative workplace where you will experience attractive benefits including:5 weeks annual leave.3 weeks personal leave.Professional development programs.Please note the role is based in Darwin and cannot be performed remotely from an interstate location.
