The Role The Town of Port Hedland is seeking an optimistic and energetic Public Affairs expert to lead its team of communications, marketing and partnerships specialists for a 12-month fixed term contract.
The Manager Public Affairs is responsible for delivering strategic approaches to communications challenges, leading-edge brand and marketing solutions and driving external funding and partnerships negotiations, including managing Government Relations.
In this role you will be exposed to unique challenges at a leadership level that will provide you with crucial skills and capability to take into your public affairs career to the next level. From the diversity of responsibility that lies within the small team, to the Town's involvement in a range of community projects, you'll play an integral role in helping make Hedland a great place to live, work and visit.
You will be stepping into a strong team with well-developed work practices, positive relationships and a clear direction laid out in the Public Affairs Strategy endorsed by leadership. This is your chance to hone your leadership skills and experience Local Government work in regional Western Australia.
