About the role
As a vital member of the People & Culture (P&C) Branch, reporting into the Head of Organisational Development, Wellbeing & Learning, your role will be focused on VGSO's strategic initiatives regarding psychological and physical health and safety, and wellbeing services throughout the organisation.
Given the unique and high risk work the VGSO undertakes, your role will be to foster an organisational thinking, culture and practice in relation to psychosocial safety and employee wellbeing. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of positive mental health strategies and effective relationship management frameworks, strategies and programs with an early intervention, education and risk minimisation focus.
In addition, this role involves providing advice, coaching and training to managers and employees while raising awareness within the organisation. You will also be involved in policy and system development and implementation, together with preparing and analysing health, safety and wellbeing data and reporting to assist managers in identify trends and preventative strategies.
Having both a strategic and operational focus, this role will provide one-on-one wellbeing discussions, triaging and referring employees to appropriate support services or practitioners as required.
Please note this is not a clinical role.
Skills and experience
Extensive experience in psychological safety with proven ability to develop, drive and strategically align wellbeing strategies and frameworks across an organisation
Experience working with professional services, health and wellbeing support services or a corporate environment is highly regarded
Strong commitment to continuous improvement with proven experience in reviewing, designing and updating new and existing policies and procedures to deliver better psychological health outcomes across the employee lifecycle.
Experience designing and delivering fit-for-purpose wellbeing workshops and initiatives with solid facilitation and presentation skills
Solid knowledge and understanding of relevant OH&S legislation, regulatory and compliance requirements
Demonstrated experience in providing advice to senior levels on high risk/impact matters
Significant experience in developing, managing and influencing strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to build credibility
Ability to deal with matters confidently, tactfully and discreetly.
Have insight into the challenges and pressures of working in a legal services context would be desirable
