Queensland Corrective Services (Organisation site) Offender Rehabilitation and Management; Specialist Operations; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; BrisbaneThe Manager Offender Intervention ensures the effective and efficient statewide delivery of offender interventions and programs to higher risk prisoners and offenders.Job detailsPosition status: Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type: Flexible full-timeOccupational group: AdministrationClassification: AO8Workplace Location: BrisbaneJob ad reference: QLD/603135/24Closing date: 22-Nov-2024Yearly salary: $141364 - $149387Fortnightly salary: $5418.50 - $5726.00Job duration: 03/03/2025 to 30/06/2025 with possible extensionKey ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic oversight, contemporary leadership and service planning to promote a culture of continuous improvement across QCS program delivery locations.Lead, motivate and encourage OIU and program delivery staff in the performance of their duties.Appraise staff performance and provide feedback on a regular basis in accordance with the Agency's performance management processes and procedures.Adhere to the Queensland Public Sector guidelines and directives regarding the management of staff.Maintain a contemporary and high standard of professional knowledge in the evidence-based delivery of offender programs, including appropriate practice frameworks for sexual offending, violent offending, and general offending programs.Develop innovative programs and services and evidence-based solutions to offender needs, including priority groups such as women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and offenders with a disability.Provide high level advice to the Agency regarding the delivery of evidence-based offender programs.Manage the provision of practice support and training to relevant custodial and Community Corrections staff involved in the rehabilitation of offenders.Participate in ongoing coaching, training and professional development.Maintain own level of knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures in relation to offender management particularly in relation to the management of high risk and sex offenders.Demonstrate a high level of understanding of contemporary rehabilitation, offender program and professional practice issues, trends and practices.Ensure the timely provision of advice and reports to courts, boards and other agencies regarding offenders, including participating in court proceedings as required.Manage the preparation of strategic advice and ministerial and executive correspondence ensuring accuracy and timelines are met.Represent the Agency in negotiations with other Government Agencies and key agencies as required to ensure the achievement of Government priorities and outcomes.Manage program delivery across correctional centres and Community Corrections locations, including operational planning and monitoring of service delivery.Manage the delivery of quality assurance activities for offender program delivery.Work with ORMS business units to develop and monitor systems to identify demand for training and any other emerging training needs.Develop processes for supporting the professional development needs of program delivery and intervention staff.Lead and participate in high level liaison with external and internal stakeholders. Implement and coordinate site monitoring processes.Participate in evaluations or support external evaluations of QCS programs, interventions and other supporting processes.Manage cost centres and monitor monthly financial statements.Devise and implement strategies to respond to budget trends.There are no mandatory qualifications for this position, however a degree in psychology, social work or a related discipline would be highly regarded. Possession of post graduate qualifications (or significant progress towards post graduate qualifications) in a relevant area will be highly regarded.The role is based in Brisbane CBD.
