Complete with a first-of-its-kind luxury resort and glamping facilities, in 2025 Monarto Safari Park will offer longer visits and a range of new and wild safari experiences in an area known as Wild Africa including incredible tours through herds of roaming animals.
ABOUT THE ROLE...In this exciting role, you will report to the General Manager of Visitor Operations and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful coordination and execution of our visitor operations activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development and execution of organisational strategic and business plans, aligning team operations with Zoos SA's aspirations and goals.Establish and oversee site-specific plans, policies, and procedures to support strategic objectives and ensure compliance.Promote Zoos SA's mission through stakeholder engagement, community participation, and expert advice on visitor experiences.Monitor performance metrics, operational activities, and compliance with policies and standards, providing detailed reports and recommendations.Oversee budgets, financial analysis, and resource allocation to optimise departmental efficiency and improve processes.Lead and mentor a team of approximately 20 FTE, fostering a collaborative culture and driving change initiatives effectively.Ensure adherence to Workplace Health and Safety standards by managing safety protocols, training, and risk assessments.Maintain accurate records, systems, and reports to meet legislative and organisational requirements and support decision-making.Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance visitor engagement and operational effectiveness.Facilitate interdepartmental communication and refine administrative processes to improve overall organisational efficiency.ABOUT YOU...Skills and ExperienceDemonstrated management experience in a tourism facility or similar environment, with proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate diverse teams.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with stakeholders and team members.Proficient in budget development, financial analysis, and operational budget management to achieve organisational targets.Expertise in customer service best practices, including handling public enquiries and complaints effectively.Proficiency in computing applications, ticketing systems, and maintaining up-to-date technical skills relevant to the role.Essential CriteriaTertiary qualifications in business-related fields such as Tourism, Marketing, Retail, or Management, or equivalent professional experience.Possession of a current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain certification upon appointment.Comprehensive understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles, with practical experience in their application.Ability to develop innovative solutions and apply creative problem-solving to enhance visitor experiences.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive and professional demeanour.HOW TO APPLY...Please complete the requested work history & education information on the application page, attach your resume and any certificates in the education section.
