About the role: We are currently seeking a Manager of QLD Network and Mine IT Support based at our Coppabella Mine, supporting two other surrounding Coal Mines in the Bowen Basin.
Reporting to the Director of IT/OT, you will be required to oversee the delivery of onsite IT networking and support services to ensure safe and continuous mining operations.
Duties will include: Lead the design, deployment, and management of mine-level wireless networks across opencut and underground operations utilising vendors where needed. Manage a variety of facility-based platforms such as CCTV, access control systems, and site server rooms. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT onsite team of two staff. Ensure high quality and timely IT support is provided across all three mine sites.
IT support consists of predominantly end user computing devices such as mobile phones, computers, and printers. Oversee IT procurement processes for vendor management, contract administration, and procurement. Develop, implement, and uphold safe and efficient work practices at all times. Build positive working relationships with both internal and external parties. The lifestyle: This position is available to accommodate a 9 Day Fortnight (5 on 2 off/4 on 3 off) on a DIDO or FIFO lifestyle with flights.

About You: Extensive experience in wireless and wired networking, including hands-on experience deployments. Cisco experience desired. Managing a small IT team is preferred though for the right candidate not essential. Background in mining is preferred though not essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
