Police & Corrections, Government - State (Government & Defence)About the Department for Correctional ServicesThe Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. In a supportive and collaborative environment, you will encounter interesting professional challenges and you will work alongside dedicated and passionate people who help to turn around the lives of offenders and rebuild lives affected by crime.DutiesThe Manager Information Release (MIR) is accountable to the Director, Integrity and Information Services for the leadership and management of freedom of information to ensure clear and timely release of information to ensure transparency, enhance public trust, and support informed decision-making.In fulfilling this role, the MIR is responsible for:Upholding the Department's obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act) and the Correctional Services Act 1982 (CS Act) ensuring compliance with legal requirements for information disclosure.Adhering to the Department of Premier and Cabinet PC012 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) and Information Sharing Guidelines (ISGs) to protect privacy and facilitate appropriate information sharing.Coordinating with the Crown Solicitor's Office to manage the effective release of information related to legal reviews and the National Redress Scheme, ensuring all legal and procedural standards are met.Special ConditionsSection 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in accordance with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements;The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;A flexible approach to working hours is required;Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required, which may necessitate overnight absences.RequirementsEssential: NilDesirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Management or a related field. 'Accredited FOI Officer' certified through SA State Records or additional certifications or training in FOI and ROI fields.RemunerationASO7($108,109 - $116,864 pa)Application InstructionsAll applications must be submitted online via I Work for SA.
