About The Role Thiess are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Training Manager for a permanent employment opportunity working at our Mount Arthur South project. As the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you would be responsible for the ongoing support of a project culture where all employees give priority to health, safety, environment and training management, procedures, practices, standards and targets.
In this role, you will:
Manage the provision of Health, Safety & Training services to the business by leading and coordinating the activities of site based Health, Safety and Training. Manage the compliance systems, practices and standards across the project. Conduct daily reviews of all incident reports within your area of responsibility. Manage and coordinate team activities by setting performance objectives and allocating appropriate resources. Build a strong HST team that is capable of delivering on targets. Provide solutions to technical, resourcing and logistical problems. Serve as the key promoter of the safety culture on the operation. About You Previous experience in a senior role in Health and Safety, Training Management are essential, as is your ability to understand workplace risk. Previous experience in managing both the health, safety and training risks of a business would be highly valued. Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and influence change with top level management is required. Relevant tertiary qualifications with a minimum Diploma in OHS and/or Cert IV WH&S. Demonstrated experience in open pit mine operations. Sound knowledge of NSW OHS legislation and mine regulations. Leading by example, you will be 'hands on' in your approach with a clear focus on contributing to the implementation of project safety management plans, including HST strategies and program delivery to minimising workplace incidents. Importantly, you will also provide project guidance in hazard identification and risk management, system development, incident investigation, monitoring programs and reporting.
