This role can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Toll Group is seeking a strategic HSE Audit and Assurance Manager to join our Governance and Assurance team. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading internal and external HSE audit and assurance activities across the organization, including self-insurance and regulatory compliance. You will develop and implement high-quality auditing tools, analytics, and insights on HSE systems performance, supported by a direct report.

As a certified Lead Auditor, you will assess risk profiles, set strategic direction, and build a comprehensive audit strategy that integrates with other business functions. This position requires an experienced HSE Audit and Assurance professional with strong leadership skills, a proven track record in the build and development of HSE assurance, auditing, and improvement, and a solid educational background in HSE. A day in the life of an HSE Audit and Assurance Manager at Toll Group:

Oversee and lead internal and external HSE audit and assurance activities.
Ensure compliance with self-insurance and regulatory requirements.
Manage and enhance in-house HSE systems.
Develop, plan, and schedule audit tools.
Provide training and education to the HSE team.
Conduct regulatory audits and manage workers' compensation self-insurance.
Work consultatively with stakeholders across various levels.
Influence and drive positive change within the HSE framework.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Extensive knowledge of HSE legislation, industry and management system standards.
Current experience working in an HSE audit, assurance, or systems position.
Experience within transport, logistics, or heavy industry is desirable.
Ability to travel (roughly twice per month) across Australia.
Experience with supporting multiple sites or a geographically diverse business is desirable.
A sound understanding of operational issues and challenges faced by line managers in implementing HSE processes and programs.
A consultative approach and ability to partner with both internal and external stakeholders.
