The role
The role is responsible for leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of project officers to deliver healthcare improvement projects across Queensland. The role's portfolio covers the Primary Care Integration and Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) program areas, and the Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries (BaSCI) project.
This includes developing and implementing strategies using methodologies such as project management, quality improvement, change management, and improvement science. You will provide program management and operational support to various governance groups, ensuring timely completion of projects, setting priorities, and managing multiple tasks and risks. Additionally, you will identify and promote best practice models of care statewide, working closely with key stakeholders, from frontline clinicians to senior leadership.
In this position, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining positive relationships across the health sector, providing expert advice to Clinical Excellence Queensland, the Director-General, and the Minister for Health. You will manage resources effectively, ensuring team performance and budget management align with departmental policies. Strong leadership, consultation, and negotiation skills are essential, as you will influence clinicians and stakeholders to improve healthcare services and outcomes across the state.
The successful person
To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. This includes the ability to build relationships, influence decision-making, and manage staff within the healthcare sector. You will also bring demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing complex documents such as reports, briefing notes, submissions, and agenda papers for senior executives and ministerial stakeholders.
Additionally, you will have a proven track record of working in the healthcare sector's fast-paced and challenging environment, with the ability to lead, manage, and deliver complex state-wide clinical projects. Your expertise in using quality improvement and redesign methodologies will ensure successful outcomes within time and budget constraints. You will also be adept at providing strategic advice and direction, while leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional results under tight deadlines.
