The RoleAs the Manager Health and Safety Operations at TasWater, you will lead a team with a specific focus on operational service delivery within the occupational health and safety function. You will apply specialist and strategic knowledge and expertise, including sound risk management practices and methodologies, to develop and deliver our multi-year H&S Strategy and program of works. This role is effective for addressing complex H&S issues, lifting organization capabilities and driving improved outcomes. Other key accountabilities include:
Provide operational leadership for the H&S Operational teams to lead transformational change in H&S performance.
Motivate, encourage and inspire the development of a strong, engaged and professional multi-disciplined team with a clear focus on the delivery of predicted outcomes and the continuous development of the capabilities of individual team members.
Develop, maintain and oversee planning capability and tools for H&S operational service delivery on the H&S Strategy and Program of Work.
Establish and maintain appropriate operating rhythms with the Business Divisions to ensure integration, communication and collaboration.
Establish and monitor processes for planned and unplanned interactions and activities including reactive response work, risk assessments, assurance, training, and coaching.
What we're looking forThis is a critical role in our H&S team and to be successful you will need to be a health and safety expert who has experience in medium to large, complex, high-risk organisations. The key skills we are looking for include:
Tertiary qualifications in health and safety, occupational hygiene, project management, business, or related fields or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Extensive experience in developing and maintaining H&S systems solutions including technology and risk tools, documents, data, analytics, and reporting.
Significant experience in project management as it relates to transformational change in H&S performance.
Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of H&S legislation, policies and standards as they relate to the workplace.
Significant experience in high-risk environments such as utilities, mining, construction, energy, logistics or similar.
Highly developed relationship management expertise to form credible and effective relationships and networks, including internal and external key stakeholders.
The DetailsThis role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $160,000- $189,000 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
