About the Role The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Manager, Freedom of Information to provide a critical role within Governance and Assurance. The Manager, Freedom of Information (FOI) manages the department's FOI responsibilities, providing specialist technical advice and functional leadership in relation to the management of the department's obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
Some of your duties will include: Lead, develop and manage staff within the FOI team.Make decisions on requests made to the department under the FOI Act.Provide authoritative and specialist advice and briefings to Minister's offices, the Secretary, and other departmental staff on complex FOI matters.About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Specialist knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of the Freedom of Information Act 1982.Qualifications Extensive experience in the application of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 is desirable.A degree in Administrative Law would be highly regarded.How to Apply The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
