The AWS Enterprise Network Team at Amazon is looking for a manager with our Enterprise Network Operations team. In partnership with your engineering counterparts, you will work to make our Enterprise Network more capable, scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Our ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and has a track record of supporting enterprise networks while building automation and tools. The candidate must be able to interact with individuals across the organization including the team, peers, leadership, and customers at a global scale.
Key job responsibilitiesLead a team of network engineers operating Amazon's enterprise network infrastructure.Continually evolve monitoring and alerting to proactively address the performance of Amazon's network infrastructure to ensure we deliver the highest quality customer experience.Partner with Engineering, Build/Scale teams to ensure high availability and uptime of the Enterprise Network.Identify opportunities and drive automation within the network operations to scale.Develop repeatable processes and playbooks within network operations to ensure consistent service delivery.Effectively define, analyze, and evolve key performance metrics to measure engineer and team performance and drive service improvements.Collaborate with customers and partners to bring new services into production.Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapt quickly to new information, and re-prioritize as needed.Oversee network incidents ensuring customer impact is minimized.Some travel to meet with remote staff and customers.Pro-actively identify resource needs, participate in recruiting efforts, and hiring to grow the team.Exhibit ownership of escalations ensuring consistent communication occurs and issues are driven to resolution and validated.Responsible for people management of a team of engineers, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching, and career growth.Identify, cultivate, and grow technical leaders.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS4+ years managing a team working in large-scale network operations.4+ years of experience working with networking protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSec, etc.).Experience in the application of network design, including knowledge of major routing protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration, and traffic engineering.Broad understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management practices.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBA/BS in an engineering or relevant experience.The ability to think at scale and automate processes/tasks.Experience presenting root cause analysis and error correction from operational events to senior management.Demonstrated experience automating and managing networks with software.Acknowledgement of country:
