They provide supported independent living to more than 500 people through a range of disability and aged care funding packages, including the NDIS. Disability Services is a high-quality, rights-based service with a person-centred philosophy of "Everything about you, with you".Role DetailsThe Manager, Disability Services Education Training and Workforce Development, is a role within Quality and Clinical Services and is accountable to the Director for:Developing and delivering education and training programs to ensure all staff in Disability Services are skilled, competent, and capable of providing high-quality, safe NDIS and Aged Care services.Leading the implementation of contemporary learning frameworks across various training modalities to enhance workforce capability.Providing expert advice to executives, management, and key stakeholders on legislation, best practices, and procedures related to Disability Services.Key outcomes and accountabilities:Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive suite of training programs for all roles in Disability Services and maintain programs in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant professional regulatory requirements, and business needs.Establish and facilitate a sustainable professional workforce development structure, including induction, refresher, mandatory, and role-specific training tailored to various service delivery areas such as Supported Independent Living, Transition to Home, and Northgate Aged Care.Evaluate and enhance workforce competency by monitoring, assessing through training needs analysis, delivering targeted structured training, to enable staff across all roles to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge that meet service needs and regulatory standards.Optimise training delivery and efficiency by developing cost-effective and flexible training methods, incorporating online learning and competency-based accreditation.Create and support communities of practice within Disability Services and across DHS to promote knowledge-sharing and professional development.Lead the delivery of projects related to service development and change management to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with broader departmental objectives.Build and maintain strategic alliances and communication channels with key stakeholders across government and other non-government sectors.Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.Special ConditionsNational Police Check required.Employment-related Screening Check required.Some out-of-hours work may be required.Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C).Role Status: Term up to 05/12/2025.Tertiary qualification in Management, Project Management, Adult Education, Health Administration, Community Services, or equivalent expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation is desirable.DHS is committed to making our services and workplaces safe and inclusive for all people and ensuring the full diversity of the communities we serve are represented in our workforce.
