The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) is excited to announce a permanent opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking manager to join our Strategy and Business Enablement team.
About the Role As the Manager, Data Strategy & Insights, you'll be at the forefront of SATAC's data-driven journey, leading the development and execution of strategic data initiatives that support long-term business growth. Reporting to the General Manager, Strategy and Business Enablement, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming insights into actionable strategies, fostering data-driven decision-making, and enhancing SATAC's offerings for its member institutions and the tertiary education sector.
This role offers a significant degree of autonomy to innovate and lead a team responsible for data governance, analytics, and the ongoing adoption of our data platform. You'll drive a data roadmap that balances risk management with evolving business needs, while strategically connecting data insights to support operational and customer goals.
About you You're a strategic thinker with proven experience in leading data and analytics initiatives that drive business outcomes. Your background includes managing teams, engaging with senior stakeholders, and delivering innovative solutions through data. Ideally, you bring experience from a complex industry/ sector/ business, and you're passionate about leveraging data to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of long-term data strategies aligned with SATAC's business objectives. Identify emerging trends and proactively recommend data-driven insights to inform senior management decisions. Oversee data governance and contribute to cybersecurity considerations, ensuring responsible, secure, and forward-looking data practices. Serve as the Product Owner for SATAC's data platform, leading efforts to modernise legacy systems, enhance analytics capabilities, and improve operational reporting. Manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic partnerships, ensuring SATAC remains at the forefront of education sector trends. Key Skills and Experience Extensive experience in data strategy and analytics, with a proven ability to influence business outcomes. Strong leadership skills, with a record of building high-performance teams that support strategic objectives. Expertise in data governance, product ownership, and the development of data-driven business insights. Outstanding communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with senior managers and stakeholders. South Australian Working With Children Check (mandatory). SATAC's broader role The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre limited (SATAC) provides reliable, efficient, and innovative tertiary admissions services to both its member institutions, and on a fee-for-service basis to other tertiary education institutions, in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
SATAC manages centralised application and admissions processes on behalf of its members and clients, as well as providing publication and research services, and acting as a one-stop service for queries regarding application processes and outcomes.
