Manager, Data Development and Business IntelligenceOffice of Industrial Relations (Organisation site: OIR)Data & Evaluation; Business & Corporate Services; Brisbane CityThe Data Development and Business Intelligence Manager will lead and manage a team of professional and technical staff by providing high level direction and support.The role has an important strategic function to develop and maintain relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to efficiently develop data models and reporting products, identify contentious and emerging issues relating to RAPID that impact these models and products, and provide advice on RAPID data related matters as they apply to the analytics and reporting functions of Data and Evaluation Services.The position reports to the Director, Data and Evaluation Services.Key responsibilities include:Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of team members over which you have responsibility. This includes ensuring you and your team members are aware of and observing their responsibilities and obligations including under relevant OIR HSW policies and procedures.Provide strategic and operational direction, support and advice to team members in accordance with procedures, objectives and performance standards adopted by OIR, and by becoming actively involved in the more difficult or potentially contentious issues.Lead, coach and manage team members by providing operational and strategic direction through regular feedback and mentoring to support the achievement of both business and personal objectives and encourage opportunities for development at work.Lead a wide range of projects, including complex data modelling, focusing on the management of health and safety and electrical safety in Queensland.Liaise with a variety of stakeholders in the development, implementation and review of workplace health and safety and electrical safety data management strategies.Direct research and projects, including setting targets, meeting budgetary constraints, evaluation and review of outcomes.Prepare recommendations, briefings, correspondence, research reports and policy papers for the consideration of the OIR Executive leadership team, Deputy Director-General and the Minister and other senior public and private sector managers.Implement OIR policies and procedures with respect to human resource management, in particular, performance planning and review, injury prevention and management, workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and the promotion of a discrimination free workplace culture that values equity and diversity.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
