Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.
About the Corporate Affairs and Fundraising Team: The Corporate Affairs and Fundraising (CAF) team is responsible for positioning, promoting and protecting QIMR Berghofer, as well as raising vital funding through philanthropic endeavours, corporate partnerships and community engagement to support the remarkable life-saving work of the Institute's researchers. The CAF team is focused on delivering high quality media, marketing, government relations, community engagement, communications, events, fundraising and philanthropy activities, aligned to the Institute's strategic objectives.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities: Applications are invited for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to join our team with the aim of increasing community and stakeholder awareness of, and donor engagement with, QIMR Berghofer as Queensland's world-leading medical research institute. You will be tasked with leading the organisation's' community engagement program, including public and internal events, speaking engagements, high school education experiences, and community and consumer involvement activities.
About You: To be successful in this role you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in marketing, event management, communications, business, or other relevant degree or equivalent experienceSubstantial experience in planning, staging, and formally reviewing successful events - including procurement, logistics, sponsorship, stakeholder engagement and communicationsSubstantial experience in building and delivering a program of community engagement aligned to overarching strategic objectivesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities, meet tight deadlines and stay calm under pressureExcellent interpersonal skills, including communicating with influence and managing multiple stakeholders - internal and externalTo note: Due to the nature of this position, some engagement and event duties will be required to be performed outside of standard business hours and on weekends Please refer to the position description on the QIMR Careers website for a full list of responsibilities and key selection criteria. Remuneration: Salary range is $132,998 to $142,709 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, permanent appointment.
