The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Capability who is driven to serve the communities of NSW, working within a strong team of likeminded professional staff and volunteers to modernise and grow the organisations operational capability.
This role will involve collaborating seamlessly across various teams, both internally and externally, where interests vary from volunteer groups to key Executives.
You will be managing major programs and projects with a focus on developing and implementing long term value-add outcomes.
Effective stakeholder engagement is paramount, demanding strong communication skills.
You will channel your advanced project management skills, structured approaches, meticulous planning, and exceptional time management.
Proven success in project management is the beacon guiding this role towards its goals, making it a pivotal and dynamic position within the organisation.
About the NSW SES

Our Vision: A trusted volunteer-based emergency service, working together to deliver excellence in community preparedness and emergency response.
The NSW SES serves the NSW community as the lead agency for floods, storms, and tsunamis.
We are recognised as the most versatile and widely used emergency service organisation in NSW with over 11,000 volunteers and 450 staff.
In addition to flood, storm and tsunami, our Service provides specialist capabilities that include general land rescue, vertical rescue, road crash rescue, and alpine and remote area search and rescue.
The NSW SES responded to over 64,000 requests for assistance from the community over the 2021-22 year.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
Be proficient in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, internal and external.Demonstrate skills and experience in data and research analysis, critical thinking and the practical implementation of organisational policy and operational doctrine.Demonstrate advanced ability to manage complex major programs and projects efficiently, from conception to completion.Possess strong leadership skills, enabling the management of both the capability and training teams effectively.Have a structured and methodical approach to project planning and execution.Possess excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines and align projects with funding initiatives.Have a proven track record of achieving successful project outcomes and delivering on objectives.What we can offer you Employment with attractive leave entitlements including parental leave, recreation and flex leave and other leave entitlements.Attractive salary package of up to $149,617.78 (salary range $120,859.00 - $133,183.00).
