A merit pool may be established and used to fill similar vacancies for up to 18 months.About our teamChief Operating Officer Group | Integrity Security & Assurance | Audit & Assurance | Internal Scrutiny. Audit and Assurance Branch provides independent advice and assurance across the department and the ABF and enables effective external oversight of the department's functions and activities. The role of the Branch is to provide confidence that risks are being managed and the department is meeting its obligations to the community.Core functions include:Overseeing the internal and external audit and fraud control arrangementsManaging the Department's statutory obligations under the Public Interest Disclosure schemeManaging the relationships with external scrutiny bodies such as the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO), the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman, Australian Human Rights Commission and the Australian Red CrossProviding risk-based and objective assurance, advice, statutory reporting and insight on immigration detention and the management of individual long-term detention casesMonitoring and assessing the Department's compliance with its key obligations and assuring the integrity of the policy and procedure control framework.Our ideal candidateThe Department is looking for people who enjoy working in a high-paced, rapidly evolving and forward-thinking environment, are able to work with limited direction and be accountable for organising their own workflow to support the outcomes of their team.
