Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure, the Manager Assets will lead Council's asset management function through the development and implementation of contemporary asset management planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and inspire a team of asset management and sustainability professionals to achieve strategic asset renewal and programmed maintenance in manner which is socially and ecologically responsible for the Mount Barker community.Lead the implementation of environmental sustainability actions and programs through an asset planning approach to influence planned projects and operations to maximise environmental benefits and return on investment.Develop, review and implement Council's asset management framework across the organisation including strategies, policies and procedures to support good governance.Ensure Council's asset register is kept up to date with regular asset condition auditing and revaluations to inform annual financial statements and longer term plans.About you:
Positive and energetic leadership style, being able to work across the organisation well and working effectively with stakeholders. Strong communication skills, building relationships and rapport, approaching complex problems with alternative thinking and understanding are must have traits in this position. Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Environmental Management(or related field) and/or 10+ years relevant work experience in a related leadership positionDemonstrated experience in the preparation and implementation of Asset Management Plans as they relate to infrastructure assets.Mount Barker District Council is committed to creating and supporting a diverse workforce.
