About Us Our Rail Division, previously known as Great Southern Rail ("GSR") operates Australia's iconic rail journeys, The Ghan, Indian Pacific, The Overland and Great Southern.
There are very few global journeys considered national treasures, but our trains are, without question, iconic Australian experiences.
About the Role We have a unique opportunity for a Management Accountant for our Rail business.
The position would suit a results focused individual who is passionate about delivering a high level of financial support to the business.
This is a hands-on role, working within the rail operations and finance team, optimising our finance function to best support our growth plans.
The role will report to the Senior Finance Manager and support the business in providing timely and effective financial reporting, analysis and modelling relating to all aspects of the Rail Operations business.
Working with the wider Finance team you will establish, develop and enhance tools and frameworks that will be consistently relevant to the Group for current and future planning and performance.
Your working week will be primarily based at Journey Beyond's Adelaide Parklands Rail Terminal (Keswick), with time spent at our Head Office on North Terrace.
Flexible hybrid working options are also available.
Key roles and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Month end accounting, performance analysis, data integration and reporting.
Assisting with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Supporting on business case modelling.
Preparing monthly reports for business leaders and department managers including P&L's, cost and labour reports, KPI's and financial metrics.
Support in inventory reporting and analysis including stocktakes and wastage report.
Provide day to day support and business partnering services to the broader Rail team and ensure clear visibility on cost drivers to drive efficiency performance.
Build collaborative working relationships across Finance and the broader organisation and utilise data to assist in decision making.
Identifying, developing, implementing reporting and process improvements.
To be successful: You will have degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, along with previous experience in management accounting, financial analysis, financial systems and modelling.
You will be able to prepare and use data to aid and influence business decisions and have an advanced understanding of excel, data tables and extraction.
  You will be reliable, professional, organised and show initiative, while also demonstrating a strong customer service orientation and have exceptional business acumen.
