The opportunity The management accountant is responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to assist management in decision-making, planning, and controlling business operations.
The Management Accountant will play a key role in aligning financial planning with strategic goals, with a focus on internal processes, efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate submissions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including variance analysis, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
Provide actionable insights to senior management on financial performance, highlighting trends and potential risks.
Analyze costs related to operations, production, and other projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Conduct product or service costing and profitability analysis to inform decision-making.
Analyze deviations between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
Track and report on relevant KPIs to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure internal financial controls are adhered to and recommend improvements where necessary.
Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Provide financial advice and insights to assist with business strategy and operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new projects, investments, or business ventures from a financial perspective.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management for special projects or strategic initiatives.
Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in management accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
Familiarity with accounting principles and practices (IFRS/GAAP).
