About the role As a member of the site lead team, reporting to the business Commercial Manager, you will work closely with the Newcastle based Management Accountant on the forecasting and budgeting process to ensure site processes and practices are aligned. Infrequent travel to Newcastle required.
You will be actively involved in identifying initiatives, and potential areas for growth, while providing ad-hoc support to the Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain departments.
As the Management Accountant you are responsible for the following keys areas within the Austube Mills Finance function;
Site level budgeting, forecasting, reporting and ensuring the accuracy of the data and processes in those results
Commercial communications within the Site Lead Team, assisting with financial awareness & systems training
Commercial advice in relation to capital proposals, inventory management and product profitability.
Reviewing & implementing finance policies & procedures.
Site governance, including stocktakes and co-ordination of monthly manufacturing questionnaires.
About your experience Our ideal candidate is comfortable in a busy manufacturing environment working alongside a supportive team that puts people and safety first. Possessing exceptional influencing skills to communicate with all levels of management and staff, you take pride in delivering high quality outcomes. You will also have:
Relevant Accountancy qualifications with CPA/CA completed or near completion, preferable
Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience performing variance analysis
Understanding of cost accounting, standard cost accounting and exposure to a range of accounting areas
Advanced Excel skills, Power BI or similar, exposure to different accounting systems/software including SAP(desirable)
Previous experience working in a team environment with set reporting deadlines.
