About the Role We have an exciting opportunity to join City of Ryde's Events Team on a temporary basis up to 14 months (parental leave relief)!
As the Major Festivals and Events Officer you will provide high quality administration and organisational support across the Events section to assist in the implementation and delivery of a wide range of major festivals.
This is an interesting and varied role in a fast paced and supportive team environment.
These events include the Granny Smith Festival, Australia Day celebrations, Cork and Fork, Lunar New Year, Christmas celebrations and others.
As part of this role you will be required to support events occurring in the evenings and on weekends as necessary.
About You  You have strong organisational and communication skills with an ability to effectively manage multiple aspects of event planning and delivery.
Your excellent attention to detail helps in ensuring that every element runs smoothly.
You bring a customer service mindset and possess adept problem-solving abilities, and are a great team worker.
In addition, you will also have: A recognised tertiary qualification in events/public relations and/or marketing, or have significant relevant work experience Proven administrative skills together with sound level of PC literacy using Word, Excel and related MS applications Well-developed written communications skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to converse confidently with a wide range of stakeholders including community groups, business associations, vendors and suppliers within the industry Current driver's licence preferred Note: This is a child-related position and a current Working With Children Check is mandatory.
Your commencing salary will be circa $75,000 + superannuation  with the actual level dependent on your experience and qualifications.
