Airbus Australia has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technical Inspector to join our team in Darwin.
This position undertakes two different roles. Primarily the position is responsible for undertaking Technical Aeronautical Product Receipt Officer (APRO) Inspections on Approved Aeronautical Product upon receipt and dispatch at the Darwin Airbus Warehouse. Secondary duty is being employed to undertake Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) duties within the Darwin Part 145 Component Deeper Maintenance section.
About the role Reporting to Team Lead Component Deeper Maintenance, and responsible to Darwin Warehouse Manager for APRO inspections activities, you are to execute APRO Inspections and AME duties within the bounds of the authority level delegated by the relevant Responsible Manager.
Working within the AAP Maintenance Function, you are required to conduct inspections and maintenance in accordance with the relevant regulations, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) (or equivalent) and all other maintenance procedures as laid out within authorised AAP procedures, relevant aircraft maintenance manuals and Defence documentation.
APRO is required to detect inaccuracies and defects in Aeronautical Product on receipt, to ensure serviceable product is Warehoused. Transit damage due to incorrect packaging or mishandling is a major cause of failed inspections. The APRO process assesses the product against documentation to ensure the asset has correct serial number, part number and workshop report identifying lower assembly remove and install to verify correct Build Structure.
As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer within the Airbus Maintenance Function, your skills, experience and knowledge will be utilised to undertake aviation maintenance activities to meet the needs of Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP) and their customers. This position requires interaction with numerous stakeholders to schedule inspections and undertake maintenance requirements. It plays an important role in maintaining customer satisfaction. undertaken by the Darwin Maintenance teams. This position will be responsible for performing ARH Maintenance activities off aircraft and supporting operational units in Industry specific tasks, such as advanced systems troubleshooting, and component modifications.
About you To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed stakeholder engagement and expectation management skills as well as good verbal and written skills.
You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.
The skills and experience best suited to this role include:
Cert IV Aeroskills (or equivalent issued by a Registered Training Organisation)High level of knowledge pertaining to the technical inspection on receipt of aeronautical productHigh level of experience in performing storage maintenance and shelf life/re life action in accordance with standards and specificationsBroad knowledge of warehouse and storage principlesBroad knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, CASA, EASA, NZCAA, FAA, ITAR, export and import controls), standards and best practices relevant to warehouse and storage.Working knowledge of Aviation and Defence regulatory requirementsBackground in Aviation maintenance and high-level knowledge of aviation airworthiness and it's applicability in the relevant environmentUnderstanding of relevant aircraft maintenance documentation and practicesIt would be desirable that you also have:

As an Australian Government Security Clearance is a requirement for this role, you must be eligible for Australian citizenship.
