The Bloomfield Group operates two open-cut coal mines in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
These operations are our Rix's Creek Mine northwest of Singleton, and our Bloomfield Mine east of Maitland.
Coal from the Rix's Creek Mine and Bloomfield Mine is railed to the Port of Newcastle and loaded onto ships using Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS).
Bloomfield is a founding member and shareholder of PWCS, and we proudly own and operate Kings Engineering, a leading NSW Engineering business.
About the role The Rix's Creek Mine Maintenance Team, part of The Bloomfield Group, is looking to appoint a permanent Maintenance Supervisor.
The role will operate on a lifestyle roster to provide direction to work teams to address maintenance issues on a range of open cut mining equipment in a productive manner and in accordance with The Bloomfield Group Health and Safety Management Systems.
Key Responsibilities Confirm safe execution of maintenance personnel practices when supervising workers on shift.
Develop and mentor maintenance personnel to build an internal talent pipeline Implement a focus on building and maintaining a strong culture within the crew and wider maintenance department Confirm all servicing and maintenance work performed in accordance with Company safety requirements, Standard Work Procedures, Management systems, and JSAs.
Confirm all plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with the required standard for specific equipment by following documented repair procedures and manufacturers recommendations.
Contribute to the achievement of production targets by confirming all maintenance jobs, particularly routine and preventative maintenance tasks, are promptly and safely actioned and completed to a high standard.
Participate in the development of equipment maintenance plans for increasing availability, improving reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
Contribute to the reduction of maintenance costs by confirming all routine and preventative maintenance tasks are fully completed in the week they are scheduled, and all maintenance jobs are correctly actioned the first time to eliminate rework by the identification of high-cost maintenance activities.
Responsible and accountable for managing planned and breakdown maintenance for the shift through excellence in utilising human and physical resources consistent with Company systems and procedures.
Inspect the quality of parts and materials issued from the stores to confirm they meet the required standard(s) and are suitable, prior to installation.
Oversee the mechanical and electrical crew at Rixs Creek Mine while collaborating with the planning team, production, procurement, and other departments within the Bloomfield Group.
Essential Criteria Trades qualification from a recognised institution A minimum of 5 years' post trade work experience in an open cut mining maintenance environment Minimum 3 years' Supervisory experience in a similar industry / role.
Experience in troubleshooting, and proven evidence of careful consideration of risk-factors in undertaking any task Proven knowledge of maintenance planning and asset management principles.
Good written and verbal communication.
Flexibility and willingness to assist others.
Time management skills Experience with Pulse is an advantage.
