Mallacoota is a small, coastal town located in the far east area of Victoria and has a population of approximately 1500 residents, which has been known to quadruple during the Christmas period. The popular tourist destination offers many things to enjoy, and is a popular spot to boat, snorkel and explore the Croajingalong National Park!
The Opportunity As our Maintenance Officer - Mallacoota, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving Council's assets, including:
Cleaning amenities, repairing structures, and maintaining roads, parks, and playgrounds.Servicing minor plant and equipment and performing routine inspections.Assisting dredging operations at the Bastion Point Boat Ramp facility.Supporting emergency management activities as needed.This is a full-time, ongoing position based at the Mallacoota Works Depot.
Minimum Requirements Trade background or demonstrated experience in infrastructure maintenance practices.Qualifications or experience in traffic signage regulations.Well established ability to communicate effectively with team members and the public.Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision.To be physically able to perform the duties of the position.Ability to work non-standard hours and at various locations as required.A current, valid Victorian driver's licence "MR" Truck as a minimum.If successful, you will need to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment and you must have an employee Working with Children Check.
